What I ordered: Tacos + Gordita
Review: My favorite thing about eating tacos every day is finding hidden gems like this spot. It’s a very unassuming building with a mural advertising their specials and barbacoa. Inside is small… maybe 6 tables and there are bars on the windows. It passes the hole-in-the-wall vibe check. Atmosphere is one thing, tasty food is another. This place has both. They note their lamb (or borrego) barbacoa on their sign. It is fantastic.
The meal started off with a cup of soup. It has veggies, noodles, and a tasty broth. Of course, in true fashion I ordered tacos and sampled several meats (the barbacoa, pastor, fajita, and carne asada). All of their meats were delicious. They were well season and spiced; each had a distinct flavor making it more than just meat in a taco. The barbacoa was my favorite, of course, but I like the fajita a lot too. They came inside homemade corn tortillas, which were perfect. The corn shell for my gordita was also amazingly cooked with a slight crisp to it. The tacos came fresh onions and cilantro in little cups, making it easy to load up the tacos. A cup of red and green salsa, each with a little spoon also came on the side. Both salsa were flavorful and spicy! I was happy to see radishes garnish the plate (a telltale sign of a good spot). Again everything was portioned great, flavored and cooked great, and tasted great!
Rating: great
